Green City under the Sunshine--Nairobi
Nairobi was established in 1899 as
a fatal station of 'Kenya-Uganda Railway'. It is located in
the south altiplano of Kenya, merely 150km away from equator.
The temperature there is hardly higher than 27?c. It is a
summer resort with cool and pleasant climate. Nairobi means
"cool and pleasant place" in the native language.
There are flowers and trees in the city. The most distinctive
feature is its virgin forest with an area of 115km2. Many
wild animals are inhabited in the forest which is the only
one urban safari park in the world. Nairobi National Park
and the Snake Park are the world famous places of interest.
The famous tourism spots such as National Museum, Railway
Museum, Snake Park and Animal Orphanage are all located inside
Nairobi while several wild animal reserves are the destinations
of many tourists visiting East Africa. Nairobi is the most
prosperous city in East Africa with 2 million of population.
There are skyscrapers, luxury hotels, beautiful apartments,
supermarkets etc, as well as grand mosque with steeple touching
clouds, National Museum, Nairobi University, gymnasium and
library etc.
